Pregnancy Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) Course Overview
This course is designed for qualified therapists who hold a Diploma in Anatomy & Physiology and a qualification in Manual Lymphatic Drainage and who wish to expand their holistic therapy skills by adding Pregnancy Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) to their practice.
During pregnancy, a woman’s body undergoes profound changes over approximately 40 weeks. The growing baby shifts the mother’s center of gravity, increasing strain on the back, neck, and shoulders. Ligaments soften and pelvic joints become less stable, altering posture and creating muscular tension and stiffness.
Pregnancy MLD is a gentle, superficial lymphatic drainage technique that can safely support expectant mothers by relieving common pregnancy-related symptoms such as swelling (oedema), fluid retention, and discomfort, while promoting relaxation and overall wellbeing. This specialised MLD helps improve lymph flow, reduces swelling, and encourages detoxification without deep tissue pressure.
On this course, you will learn how to safely perform Pregnancy MLD, including side-lying positioning on the treatment couch to ensure maternal comfort and safety.

Our face-to-face training is highly practical and hands-on. You will be expected to study the course manual in depth at home before attending. Theory is covered briefly in the morning, with the remainder of the day dedicated to supervised practical training.
Training sessions available as group classes (maximum 2 students) or one-to-one (121). Pricing varies accordingly.

Entry Requirements & Prerequisites:
- A qualification in Anatomy & Physiology
- A Qualification in Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Course Duration:
- 1 full day classroom and practical training, 9:30 am – 4:00 pm
Assessment:
Continuous formative assessment during practical training, plus a final verbal and practical summative assessment demonstrating pregnancy MLD techniques with minimal tutor guidance.
Qualification:
Upon successful completion, you will receive a Diploma in Pregnancy Manual Lymphatic Drainage.
Insurance:
Graduates are eligible to obtain professional insurance for Pregnancy MLD practice. All courses at Graceful Aura Training Academy are CPD accredited.
